Ready for the potty???

So I get these babycenter emails that tell you what's going on with your kids every week of their life thus far. They are just general topics and they highlight milestones or where you kid may be going next. Well, the 18 month email discussed potty training. I thought I would get the potty out to see what Alex did. Let's just say - he might not be ready :) No seriously - he does say potty all the time and point to it - he just doesn't have any interest in actually telling us that he needs to use it before filling his diaper. We won't rush it!

Evan is One Month Old

Evan turned one month old today on Valentine's day! Oh how time continues to fly!

Alex's First Real Haircut

Alex needed to get a haircut before our family pictures were taken, so we took him to Kids Kuts in Hyde Park. Jennifer did a great job and has a lot of patience :) She was especially impressed at his lack of response to the clippers! He didn't seem to mind sitting still for her, of course, he held on tight to his Glow Worm and his Binky the entire time!

Evan's Two Week Visit

We had to go back to the doctor today to make sure that Evan was back above his birth weight. I knew he had gained some weight - because he is starting to "feel" heavier, but we were shocked that he had gained a whole pound in 10 days! He is now up to 8lbs 4.8ozs, well above his birth weight! He is growing like a champ! Our next doctor's visit will be February 20th and is a special one because Alex actually gets to go too for his 18 month visit! Alex has been packing on some weight, so I am curious to see how much he has gained!

Evan's First Bath

Yes - I have dreaded giving him his first bath - it took two weeks! I am a bad mommy - I know... He was okay as long as I wasn't touching him and he had to have his hands close to his mouth for security I guess! He looks just like Alex to me in these pictures, especially the ones of him crying (refer back to Alex's first bath post)!

Two Weeks Old!

One week old!

Evan is adjusting to his new life in this noisy house and can already sleep through just about anything! Alex is getting more and more curious to touch Evan - his favorite part to touch is his little ears - given his ear fetish, this is no surprise to us! We are trying to get some pictures with Alex and his new brother, but Alex won't stand still long enough :) I will keep trying!

Because it has been so cold, we haven't got out too much - Alex was thrilled to just walk up and down the sidewalk with Tim and sit in the swing for a few minutes on Saturday! Before that we had all just been laying around in our PJ's!

Leaving the hospital

We got to leave the hospital just one day after Evan was born - he was doing good, I was doing good, so why stay! I was very glad to get to sleep in my own bed again! Blood tests at 6am are no fun!
