Recent randoms...

This was all three boys in the wagon - the first wagonride for Drew!

UK fans!

Making popcorn with the popcorn maker from Cioci Mary Beth and Brian!

At the movies with Mom!

They made a carwash for their race cars. Let me tell you - things were bad before we took this outside. They do get points for creativity though!

Boys at the Park

We just walked up to our local park one day. Nothing too special - just found these on my phone to share!

Alex Extraciricular Activities

Climbing the Pusateri's tree - a few minutes later he got his leg stuck and I had to
go help him. He made me take this picture before he would even think about climbing down.

Climbing another tree at Ault Park, while all his friends played on the playground.

Alex loves to draw/color. He will spend hours obsessing over his artwork. He begs us to print various things, or as he says it, "Mom, can you please have the printer draw me an airplane? PLLLLLEEEEEAAASSSE!!!" This is a family portrait that he made at school. My favorite details are Tim and Evan's spikey hair, my large ears (I keep telling myself it could be hair), how large he is in comparison to everyone else and our pet spider.

Alex's new bike that he got for Christmas - that got put together in March, thanks to the people at Toy's ON Us (Alex's name for Toy's R Us). He does great!

I kinda feel bad that I don't have a post dedicated for just Evan, but all he does nonstop is fight the air with his lightsabers or chase Brutus around with the lightsaber. He doesn't give me too much to work with!

Drew and some memorable firsts

FIRST WAGON RIDE

FIRST BLUEBERRY PANCAKE - KILLED IT.

FIRST ACT OF SNEAKINESS (CRAWLING BACKWARD TO HIDE UNDER THE CHAIR).

FIRST BLACK EYE (THANKS TO LUKE SKYWALKER)

FIRST (DOCUMENTED) TIME GETTING CHOKED BY ALEX. POOR THING LOOKS SCARED TO DEATH...

Policeman or Firefighter?

Alex has had two fieldtrips in the last two weeks and he has just gone public service MAD. He told me he wanted to have a lot of jobs when he grows up - a pilot, a police officer and a firefighter. The first field trip was to the Fairfax police departement. They also have a municipal courtroom there, so the class got a lesson on court as well. They were able to see where they keep the prisoners, the police cars, and the survailance monitoring system for the Wal-mart parking lot (apparently the Wal-mart in this town has a huge theft problem). This system was Alex's favorite part of the tour (none of the other kids even noticed it). He was over by himself staring at it while the other kids were locked in the jail cells! Officer Steve took time to explain it all to him and he was so excited. Then Officer Steve proceeded to tell him that they were going to have to hire him on to help watch the parking lot - I have never seen him smile so big! We tell Alex and Evan all the time how they need to be good or the police will come get them to tease them... This was proof in his mind for sure!

The second field trip was just yesterday and we had the oppurtunity to go to the Hyde Park Fire Station. Alex has been to a fire house before - but he still got a kick out of watching a fireman put on their equipment and talk about the fire truck, pole, etc... They department even got called out on an emergency and had to end our tour quickly to respond. The kids got a big kick out of watching the trucks pull out of the station!

Here are some pictures and a video I took that day! In the video, Alex is in a navy blue shirt. I have never seen him so excited! I love how he raises his arms to cheer - as if he has won the super bowl or something.

Egg Hunt - Ault Park

The boys had a great time at the Easter egg hung with all their friends this year. They really got into it and understood the concept and even understood me when I told them they were only allowed to get 12 eggs each (not my rule - but to be fair to the slower, less agressive kids).

Drew is on the move!

Heaven help us! He really is starting to show his true personality these days! He just starting forward crawling within the last week and he now can get anywhere he wants to go. One of his favorite spot is the shoe basket - filled to the brim with Alex and Evan's nasty shoes. He had been managing to get over to it, pull himself up and get out a yummy Croc to gnaw on. Great - you know that makes my skin crawl thinking about it. I wised up and put the shoe basket on the landing downstairs, thinking I had solved the problem - but no, I had not... Drew crawled right back over to the same spot - unplugged the remote control charger and yanked the whole thing down off the entertainment stand... Oh boy - guess he is taking after Evan more than we had initially thought. He also liked to pull on the fireplace screen, until it fell on him and now he seems to be staying away from that. Looks like the baby gates need to be brought up from the basement, sooner than we had hoped!

Alex: Fun at School

Having fun with the marble run they built.

Alex and his friend Anna in the bear cave on PJ day (they were learning about hibernation)

Alex playing with the "clean mud" - he was so excited to tell us about this. It is "mud" but made
of toliet paper and dish soap. He just called it the fun, squishy stuff made out of toliet paper.
Better that this kind of stuff stays at school :)

More "clean mud" with the ladies (they are all adorable).

Thanksgiving feast - with his mouth full!

First field trip hay ride with his buddies!

Proud of the tower he had built!

I snagged these pictures off Alex's teachers blog (hopefully she doesn't mind). I hadn't looked at it in months, but apparently she has been posting pictures of them in the classroom, some are from the fall - you will notice the shaggy hair! Thought you guy might enjoy these as much as I did.

As a sidenote - Alex loves school and loves to learn. He is currently obsessed with policeman and fireman - since that is what they have been learning about recently. We went to the Fairfax police station last week and tomorrow we will be going to the Hyde Park fire station. He made us find a badge online last night and print it out for him. He took it to school today to show everyone. I will post some pictures of that and a video when I get them all pulled together!

Eight Months Old

Wow! Drew is growing up fast! He is rolling everywhere, crawling everywhere, has his two bottom teeth(you can see them in the picture above), blabbering away (first word, for sure Mama) - he says it constantly and especially when he wants something - so spoiled! He is starting to pull-up, eating more solids, feeding himself table food, holding his own bottle, soon he will be driving! We had a quick photo shoot this month - but I got a couple good ones!
